I feel much better about myself after cleaning my room, washing my clothes, eating Subway, finishing my New Testament paper, listening to The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me, doing my taxes, and changing the lightbulb in my room. Phew.

So the results of COMAP are in. We scored one team in as emeritus status, and three honorable mentions. Pretty nice. My team got an honorable mention. I have to say, it was an enjoyable experience overall, and I can’t wait to do it again next year with the experience I gained this year.

I found out about the REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) I’d applied for at NKU. I ended up not getting it, I think in large part because of my late entry. Don’t do that. So now I have to re-shuffle my summer plans. I think I’m still going to stay home for the summer and not sell books. I will probably work part time and take classes at NKU. I’m thinking Spanish and some computer programing something or other. I am SO jealous every time C++ people talk about their class. They make it out to be hell, and I’m sure it is, but I love programming.

I registered for next semester - finally. I arrogantly squandered the benefits of early registration my junior status accrue to me, but since I’m taking two math classes and general physics, I figured it shouldn’t be too hard to make it into two gen ed classes. I’m good to go except for Spanish. It has three sections, two of which are taken up my math classes already. The third is full. It shouldn’t be too hard to make it in though, what with people drop/adding.

Now all I have to do is finish this semester…

Congratulations on the COMAP standings. That’s truly awesome. Participating in the COMAP competition was a high point of my college experience, but we never scored that high.

REU was also a very valuable experience. I did an REU at FSU, and, although I can no longer understand the paper I wrote, I still have friends and cool stories from that summer.
